In honor of World Taste and Smell Day 2024, FOODMAP Network, Global Consortium for Chemosensory Research (GCCR), SenseNet Network, Shandong Institute of Food Science and Technology will present an online international science-based presentation that will explore the value of these senses in health, aging, and overall scientific knowledge, proiding insights into how sensory experiences and their proper care could improve people’s quality of life and impact daily life.
Topics will include: a preview of the book, “How Smell Affects our Health”; a presentation by Maria Veldhuizen, Chair of the GCCR on “What is Flavor?” an introduction of the Smell and Taste Alliance by Dr. Jingguo Chen; and session on talking about smell and taste; smell training, and a roundtable discussion.
