Yağmur Başak Ören

Our senses of taste and smell are deeply intertwined with emotions, memories, well-being, and overall quality of life—yet they are often overlooked. With a background in neuroscience and a passion for olfaction, Yağmur is dedicated to raising awareness about the critical role these senses play in both scientific discovery and everyday experiences.

As a member of the World Taste & Smell Association (WTSA), she contributes to bridging the gap between research and public understanding, supporting initiatives that educate, foster interdisciplinary discussions, and highlight the impact of taste and smell on health, culture, and industry. From neuromarketing and scent branding to consumer behavior and well-being, she explores how olfaction shapes decision-making and enhances brand experiences.

Through content creation, research, and public outreach, she is committed to advancing the conversation around these vital senses and ensuring they are better understood, valued, and integrated into scientific and consumer applications.
